Sometimes life does not move in the direction you planned. I never thought my father would die at the age of 51, never to see his grandchildren or walk my sisters down the wedding aisle.
Other times life goes exactly as you thought and you wish you had planned differently. These are the moments I realize I don’t know it all. Like when I longed to move away from Fort Wayne. When we finally left the area, I missed my family. That was also the time we lost our baby and my father died.
Through all the planned changes and the unpredictability of life, God has strategically placed people in my life during different seasons – exactly the right people at exactly the right time.
It’s kind of like when my friend (we’ll call her Maria), my sister and I water skied off the coast of Sarasota, Florida. When “Maria” took her turn, the salt water sprayed up her swimsuit at the perfect moment and at the exact angle to give her a saltwater enema. When she couldn’t take it anymore, she later pretended she was searching for starfish in a sandbar and, well, let the enema “do its work.”
For all those friends in my life right now, and even you faithful blog readers, God is strategically using you to “do His work” in my life. I am so thankful for you.

i love you. and i love maria.
